Limited Warranty

Last updated: 18 August 2026 (v2.1)

1. Warranty Overview

Furver Pty Ltd ("Furver", "we", "us") stands behind the quality and craftsmanship of every product we sell. This Limited Warranty ("Warranty") provides coverage against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the periods specified below, commencing from the date of delivery to the original purchaser.

Our Warranty is designed to give you confidence in your purchase. It applies to products purchased directly from Furver — either through our website at furver.com.au or from one of our physical retail locations in Australia. This Warranty is provided in addition to, and does not limit or exclude, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

2. Coverage Periods

The warranty duration varies depending on the product category and component. The following table outlines the standard coverage periods applicable to products purchased:

Product CategoryWarranty Period
Sofa internal frame (structural)Lifetime structural warranty
Sofas, recliner sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, and ottomans2 years
Reclining mechanisms and electric motors2 years
Foam, filling, and padding1 year

Kids furniture2 years
Coat hangers and accessories2 years
MattressesAs specified on product listing (typically 5–10 years, determined by manufacturer)
Clearance and floor stockAs noted on product page (may be reduced or excluded)

The "Lifetime structural warranty" on sofa frames covers the internal timber frame against breakage under normal domestic use for the reasonable expected lifespan of the product. It does not extend to cosmetic components, upholstery, or soft furnishing elements.

3. What Is Covered

This Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship that arise during the applicable warranty period when the product has been used under normal domestic conditions and in accordance with any care instructions provided. Specifically, the Warranty applies to:

  • Structural failure of frames, joints, or load-bearing components due to faulty materials or assembly
  • Mechanical failure of reclining mechanisms, hinges, drawer slides, or electric motors under normal operation
  • Premature deterioration of foam or filling that exceeds the expected breaking-in characteristics described in Section 6
  • Fabric or leather defects such as seam separation, delamination, or colour transfer that result from manufacturing faults (not wear)
  • Hardware defects including broken zippers, snapped fasteners, or non-functional assembly fittings

A defect is considered a manufacturing fault when the product fails to perform as reasonably expected under normal household use, and the failure is not attributable to external factors, misuse, or the natural ageing process of materials.

4. What Is Not Covered

This Warranty does not extend to issues arising from the following circumstances:

  • Normal wear and tear, including gradual pilling, fading, softening, or surface deterioration that occurs with regular use over time
  • Damage caused by bodily fluids or excretions, including but not limited to urine, vomit, or faeces
  • Damage resulting from the use of medications, chemicals, cleaning agents, or substances that adversely affect the product's materials or finish
  • Damage caused by improper use, negligent handling, incorrect cleaning methods, inadequate storage, or transportation by the customer
  • Damage from exceeding the weight capacity specified on the product listing at the time of purchase
  • Damage arising from modifications, alterations, improper assembly, tampering, or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose
  • Damage caused by prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, moisture, or corrosive chemicals
  • Body impressions on mattresses, sofas, or chairs where the indentation measures less than 32mm in depth
  • Damage caused by natural disasters, flooding, fire, or other unforeseeable events beyond reasonable human control
  • Defects in products sold in an "As Is" condition where such defects were disclosed to the buyer prior to purchase
  • Products used for commercial, institutional, or rental purposes
  • Damage caused by pets, sharp objects, or abrasive materials

5. Fair Wear and Tear

All furniture materials undergo natural changes with use and age. The following are considered normal characteristics of ownership and are not covered under this Warranty:

Fabric Upholstery

Gradual fading from sunlight exposure; creasing and wrinkling from regular sitting; slight softening or compression of cushion fill; pilling on fabric surfaces caused by friction; minor colour loss over extended periods; and light loosening of decorative stitching.

Leather Upholstery

Development of natural patina and colour variation; creasing and wrinkling from regular use; softening and moulding of leather to body shape; and natural grain variations, markings, or texture differences inherent to genuine leather.

Timber Components

Minor surface scuffs or light scratches from everyday use; subtle colour shifts from ageing or light exposure; natural wood grain patterns, knots, and mineral streaks; and small surface dents from normal domestic activity.

Stone Surfaces

Minor surface imperfections or textural variations; gradual patina development; light surface marks from daily use; and natural veining, colour variation, and unique patterning inherent to natural stone.

Metal Components

Light surface scratches from normal contact; gradual colour change or patina development on certain finishes; and minor tarnishing on exposed metal surfaces over time.

Fair wear and tear does not include significant damage, deep stains, tears, structural breakage, or deterioration resulting from misuse, neglect, accidents, spills, or intentional harm.

6. Foam Breaking-In Period

During approximately the first four weeks of use, the foam and filling materials in upholstered products (sofas, armchairs, and cushioned seating) undergo a natural settling process. During this period, cushions may initially feel firmer and may not yet conform fully to body contours.

This is a normal characteristic of high-density foam and is not indicative of a defect. With regular use, the foam will gradually adjust, providing improved comfort and support as it moulds to your preferred sitting position. The breaking-in process does not compromise the long-term durability or structural integrity of the product.

We recommend rotating and flipping reversible cushions periodically during this period to promote even settling across all seating surfaces.

7. How to Make a Claim

If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect covered by this Warranty, please follow the steps below:

Eligibility

The defect must have appeared within the warranty period stated on the product listing at the time of your purchase. You must be the original purchaser and be able to provide proof of purchase (order confirmation email or invoice).

Submitting Your Claim

Send an email to Support@furver.com.au with the following information:

  • Subject line: Warranty Claim for Invoice Number [your invoice number]
  • A minimum of two clear photographs or a short video clearly showing the defect
  • A written description of the issue, including when you first noticed it and how the product has been used
  • Your order number or invoice number and the date of purchase
  • Your full name and contact details

Response Time

Our warranty team will acknowledge your claim and provide an initial response within 2–5 business days. Complex claims requiring supplier consultation may take additional time, and we will keep you informed of progress throughout the process.

8. Claim Resolution

Where Furver determines that a product or component has a genuine manufacturing defect, we will offer one of the following remedies at our discretion:

  • Repair: We will arrange repair of the defective component or product at no cost to you.
  • Replacement: We will provide a replacement product or component of equivalent specification. If the original product is discontinued, we will offer a comparable alternative.
  • Partial refund: In cases where the product has been in use for a significant portion of its warranty period, we may offer a pro-rata refund reflecting the remaining warranty coverage and the product's condition.

If a replacement or repair is provided, the warranty on the repaired or replaced item continues from the original date of purchase — it does not restart. For example, if a product with a 5-year warranty develops a covered defect at 18 months and is replaced, the replacement carries the remaining 2 years and 6 months of coverage.

Our Rights During the Claims Process

Furver reserves the right to:

  • Request proof of purchase and identification to verify the claim
  • Request additional photographs, video, or information to assess the reported defect
  • Arrange for a qualified assessor or supplier representative to inspect the product
  • Require the return of the defective product prior to issuing a repair, replacement, or refund
  • Determine the appropriate remedy (repair, replacement, or refund) based on the nature and severity of the defect

Freight and Collection

For customers located within 50 kilometres of our nearest store, Furver will cover reasonable freight costs associated with warranty returns and replacements. For customers located beyond this radius, the claimant is responsible for arranging and covering the cost of transporting the product to our nominated location. All returns and exchanges must be pre-approved by Furver before dispatch.

9. Transit Damage

We take great care in packaging every order to ensure safe delivery. However, in the unlikely event that your product arrives damaged, faulty, or broken during transit, please contact us promptly and we will arrange a replacement or repair at no additional cost.

To protect your rights, we strongly recommend the following upon delivery:

  • Inspect all items carefully before signing any delivery acceptance documentation
  • If damage is visible, notify the delivery driver immediately and ensure the damage is recorded on the delivery receipt or consignment note
  • Photograph the product, all consignment labels, and both internal and external packaging before discarding any materials
  • Report any damage to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery or discovery of the issue

Furver cannot accept responsibility for damage that is not reported within 48 hours of delivery (or discovery) or where the product was not inspected at the time of delivery or collection.

10. Transferability

This Warranty is personal to the original purchaser as identified in the original sales order and is not transferable. It does not extend to subsequent owners of the product, whether acquired through resale, gift, or any other transfer of ownership. Coverage applies exclusively to products used for normal domestic purposes within a private household.

11. Commercial Use

Products purchased for use in commercial, institutional, hospitality, rental, or any non-domestic environment are not covered by this Warranty. Commercial use subjects furniture to significantly higher levels of wear and stress than typical household conditions, and our warranty coverage is calibrated for residential use only. If you require furniture for commercial applications, please contact our sales team to discuss available options.

12. Clearance and Floor Stock

Products sold as clearance items, floor stock, ex-display, or at significantly reduced prices may carry a modified warranty. The specific warranty terms for these items will be clearly stated on the product listing or communicated at the point of sale. In some cases, clearance items may be sold with no warranty coverage or with a shortened warranty period. Any known cosmetic imperfections or pre-existing conditions will be disclosed prior to purchase and are not covered under any warranty.

13. Free Gifts

Complimentary items, promotional gifts, or bonus products provided at no charge with a qualifying purchase are not covered by any warranty. These items are provided "as is" without any guarantee of durability, fitness for purpose, or freedom from defects.

14. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law ("ACL"). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this Warranty limits, excludes, or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the ACL or any other applicable legislation. This Warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights. Where this Warranty provides a remedy that is less favourable than what is available to you under the ACL, your statutory rights will prevail.

For more information about your consumer rights, visit the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) website at www.accc.gov.au.
